During search pages analysis Google tired word "apple" to word "Mac" and decided that they are synonyms because they often meet together on different pages.

What is the conclusion of this little experiment and how is it related to social networks? The relationship is very straightforward. All links in social networks are divided into groups depending on tags they were applied too. This is called "folksonomy". All links that belong to same word or group of words appear in the same page. This builds strong semantic relationship between search term and names of sites and domain names of links. Deep in Google's semantic network your keywords are tired to your pages' names and your domain. So next time somebody enters your keyword into search box, Google will treat your site more relevant to this keyword than others. This is what LSI technology is about.
